I am running an in-person open-table Shadowdark game on Jan 11
https://nerdlouisville.org/event/slur-your-roll-177/
I like the DCC Funnel "Hole in the Sky" (DCC #86) but I need to convert it to Shadowdark. Any advice is welcome! Especially from GM's who have run this in Shadowdark before. As I do the conversion, I will edit this OP to include all the changes.
Things I know I need to update....
#1: Divide treasure values by 10 to fit the Shadowdark XP for GP rules.
#2: Convert the monster stats...
2a: Sea shrike. DCC stats= Init +0; Atk bite +1 melee (1d3); AC 12; HD 1d6; hp 3 each; MV Fly 40’; Act 1d20; SP Infravision, Blood Scent; SV Fort +0 Ref +2 Will -1; AL C.
Shadowdark Sea Shrike= AC 12, HP 3, ATK claws/bite +1 (1d3), MV near (fly), S +0, D +0, C +0, I -2, W -1, Ch -2, AL C, LV 1. Infravision, blood scent.
2b: Woven women
2c: Stranded madman
2d: Titan.
2e: Cur Maxima
2f: Abandoned Ones
2g: Karlos Gend
#3: Change the "wheel of destiny" outcomes in the final scene, which are based on the DCC luck stat and birth augurs, so that they make sense in Shadowdark. Results 7- and 20+ are OK, but need new results for 8-11, 12-15, and 16-19.
#4 Apart from the conversion, I think I will also revise the journey across the bridge so that the party doesn't have to wait two days for the gate to appear. That just seems tedious and I need to keep it snappy to finish in a few hours.
Anything else?
